Proteolytic stability

Proteolytic stability is the resistance of a peptide to degradation by protease enzymes. Natural linear peptides are often rapidly degraded in biological matrices. Strategies to improve stability include D-amino acid substitution, cyclisation, N-methylation, terminal capping and lipidation, which are evaluated in serum or enzyme stability assays.
