Orthogonal method
An orthogonal analytical method relies on a different separation or detection principle from the primary method, such as capillary electrophoresis or ion-exchange alongside reversed-phase HPLC. Using orthogonal methods reduces the risk that impurities co-eluting with the main peak go undetected, giving a more reliable assessment of peptide purity.
