Glossary
Molecular weight
Molecular weight, more precisely molar mass, is the mass of one mole of a substance, expressed in grams per mole (g/mol). For peptides it is calculated by summing residue masses plus water and any modifications. It is used to convert between mass and moles when preparing solutions of known molar concentration in the laboratory.
