Mass resolution
Mass resolution, or resolving power, describes a mass spectrometer's ability to distinguish ions of slightly different m/z. It is often expressed as m/Δm at a given peak. High resolution allows isotopic peaks of multiply charged peptides to be separated and closely related species to be distinguished.
