Glossary
Mass concentration
Mass concentration is the mass of a solute divided by the volume of the solution, commonly expressed in mg/mL or µg/mL in peptide work. It can be converted to molar concentration by dividing by molecular weight. Mass concentration is convenient when molecular weight is uncertain, such as with heterogeneous or PEGylated materials.
