Autoclave
An autoclave is a pressure chamber that sterilises equipment and media using high-pressure saturated steam, typically at 121 °C for 15 minutes or longer. Peptides generally cannot be autoclaved because heat causes degradation, so peptide solutions are sterilised by filtration instead.
