Filtration
Filtration separates particles from a fluid by passing it through a porous medium. In peptide work, 0.22 µm membrane filters are used to remove particulates and microorganisms from solutions. Filter material matters because some membranes bind peptides, so low-protein-binding options such as PVDF or PES are commonly chosen.
