Certificates, and what “not on file” means
A certificate of analysis is a document about a lot. If we do not have the document, we do not invent the numbers that would have been on it.

A certificate is a file, not a mood
A certificate of analysis, where a supplier issues one, belongs to a lot. It may list tests and results. Sable Peptides’s catalogue does not currently store those files. The honest sentence is: not on file.
What we will not backfill
We will not type a plausible purity, a plausible pH, or a plausible lot code to make a product page look finished. Those figures would be fiction. Fiction in a specification is worse than a gap.
When a file exists later
The operator desk can change a record. Until a real file is attached and checked, the public sentence stays “not on file”. Attachment of files is a later piece of work; the status exists so the sentence does not have to change shape.
