NAD+, 5-Amino-1MQ and SLU-PP-332: why are non-peptides in a peptide catalogue?

NAD+, 5-Amino-1MQ and SLU-PP-332 are not peptides. NAD+ is a dinucleotide coenzyme of about 663 g/mol. 5-Amino-1MQ is a small quaternary quinolinium cation that inhibits the enzyme NNMT. SLU-PP-332 is a synthetic agonist of the estrogen-related receptors. They are stocked because the same research groups buy them alongside peptides.

What is NAD+ studied for?

NAD+ is the oxidised coenzyme in redox reactions and the substrate of sirtuin deacetylases. Classic papers showed SIRT1 depends on NAD+ and linked AMPK to NAD+ metabolism.

What is 5-Amino-1MQ?

It belongs to a series of quinolinium inhibitors of nicotinamide N-methyltransferase (NNMT), the enzyme that methylates nicotinamide. Structure–activity work set out the series, and later mouse diet studies used an NNMT inhibitor of this type.

What is SLU-PP-332?

A synthetic pan-agonist of ERRα/β/γ developed at Saint Louis University and described as an exercise mimetic in mouse studies. Chemical optimisation of the series continued in 2026.

How do peptide CoA terms apply to non-peptides?

HPLC purity and mass identity still apply. Peptide-specific ideas such as net peptide content, sequence and counter-ion TFA do not apply in the same way. NAD+ is hygroscopic and light-sensitive and is weighed in hundreds of milligrams, not single milligrams.
