Glossary
Structure-activity relationship
A structure-activity relationship (SAR) describes how changes in a molecule's chemical structure affect its biological activity. In peptide research, SAR studies substitute, delete or modify residues and measure effects on binding or function, guiding the design of analogues with improved potency, selectivity or stability.
