Spectrophotometer
A spectrophotometer measures the intensity of light transmitted or absorbed by a sample as a function of wavelength. UV-visible spectrophotometers are used to determine peptide and protein concentrations, monitor reactions and characterise chromophores. Microvolume instruments allow measurements on samples of only one or two microlitres.
