Specification
A specification is a defined set of tests, analytical procedures and acceptance criteria that a material must meet. For a research peptide, specifications may include identity by mass spectrometry, minimum HPLC purity, appearance and, where relevant, limits for water, counter-ions or endotoxin. Batches are released only if they conform.
