Measurement uncertainty
Measurement uncertainty is a parameter characterising the dispersion of values that could reasonably be attributed to a measured quantity. It combines contributions such as balance calibration, volumetric glassware and instrument variability. Reporting uncertainty, as described by the GUM, conveys the reliability of analytical results.
