Glossary
Desiccant
A desiccant is a hygroscopic substance used to absorb moisture and keep an environment dry. Silica gel, molecular sieves and calcium chloride are common examples. Desiccant sachets are often placed in storage containers with lyophilised peptides to protect them from humidity, and indicating desiccants change colour when saturated.
