Glutathione
Tripeptide
Glutathione is a tripeptide made of glutamate, cysteine and glycine (γ-L-glutamyl-L-cysteinylglycine). The reduced form carries a free thiol on the cysteine residue, which is why it oxidises readily to the disulfide form in air and solution.
