# Wang resin

Wang resin is a polystyrene-based resin carrying a 4-alkoxybenzyl alcohol linker, used in Fmoc solid-phase peptide synthesis to produce peptides with a free C-terminal carboxylic acid. The peptide is released by exposure to concentrated trifluoroacetic acid, which simultaneously removes acid-labile side-chain protecting groups.
