# TCEP

Tris(2-carboxyethyl)phosphine (TCEP) is a thiol-free reducing agent that cleaves disulfide bonds. Compared with DTT it is odourless, more stable in air and effective across a wider pH range, and it does not need removal before maleimide labelling in many protocols. It is supplied as a hydrochloride salt.
