# Solubility

Solubility is the maximum amount of a substance that can dissolve in a given volume of solvent at a specified temperature. Peptide solubility depends on sequence, charge, hydrophobicity and pH. A common practice is to test solubility with a small portion of material before dissolving the whole vial, starting with water and adjusting as needed.
