# Shelf life

Shelf life is the period during which a material is expected to remain within its specification when stored under recommended conditions. For lyophilised peptides stored at -20 °C, it is commonly measured in years, while reconstituted solutions have much shorter usable periods. Stability studies at defined temperatures support shelf-life claims.
