# Sequence

A peptide sequence is the ordered list of amino acid residues in a peptide, written from the N-terminus to the C-terminus using one-letter or three-letter codes. The sequence determines molecular weight, charge, hydrophobicity and folding. Confirming that a synthetic product matches the intended sequence is done by mass spectrometry and sometimes tandem MS sequencing.
