Glossary

# Recombinant expression

Recombinant expression is the production of peptides or proteins by introducing genetic material encoding them into host organisms such as bacteria, yeast or cultured cells. It is efficient for long sequences but limited to natural amino acids unless special techniques are used, contrasting with chemical synthesis.
