# Personal protective equipment

Personal protective equipment (PPE) includes items worn to minimise exposure to hazards, such as lab coats, safety glasses and nitrile gloves. Appropriate PPE is required when handling research chemicals, including peptide powders whose toxicological properties may not be fully characterised, and solvents used to dissolve them.
