# Peptidomimetic

A peptidomimetic is a compound designed to mimic the structure or function of a peptide while incorporating non-natural elements, such as modified backbones, D-amino acids, N-methylation or non-peptide scaffolds. Peptidomimetics are used in research to improve stability against proteases, constrain conformation or probe the essential features required for receptor recognition.
