# Molarity

Molarity, or molar concentration, is the amount of solute in moles per litre of solution, written mol/L or M. Sub-units such as millimolar (mM), micromolar (µM) and nanomolar (nM) are common in peptide research. Molarity is calculated by dividing moles of peptide, derived from mass and molecular weight, by solution volume.
