# Millilitre

A millilitre (mL) is one thousandth of a litre, equal to one cubic centimetre. Lyophilised peptides are commonly dissolved in a few millilitres of solvent to make stock solutions. Concentration in mg/mL is obtained by dividing the peptide mass in milligrams by the solvent volume in millilitres.
