# Micromole

A micromole (µmol) is one millionth of a mole (10⁻⁶ mol). The number of micromoles in a sample equals its mass in milligrams divided by the molecular weight in g/mol, multiplied by 1,000. For example, 5 mg of a peptide with a molecular weight of 1,000 g/mol corresponds to 5 µmol.
