# Microlitre

A microlitre (µL) is one millionth of a litre, equal to one cubic millimetre. Small volumes of peptide stock solutions are dispensed in microlitres using calibrated micropipettes. Accuracy at very low volumes depends on pipette calibration, tip quality and technique, so larger volumes and serial dilutions are often preferred for precision.
