# Limit of quantitation

The limit of quantitation (LOQ) is the lowest concentration of an analyte that can be measured with acceptable accuracy and precision. It is commonly associated with a signal-to-noise ratio of about 10:1. Impurities below the LOQ may be detected but cannot be reported as reliable numerical values.
