# Isobaric

Isobaric species have the same nominal mass, such as leucine and isoleucine residues or certain modifications. Isobaric compounds cannot be distinguished by low-resolution mass measurement alone, so chromatographic separation, high-resolution MS or specific fragmentation patterns are needed to tell them apart.
