# Ion chromatography

Ion chromatography is a form of ion-exchange chromatography used to separate and quantify ions, often with conductivity detection. In peptide quality control it measures residual counter-ions such as trifluoroacetate, acetate and chloride, which helps explain the difference between gross weight and net peptide content.
