# Hydrogen bond

A hydrogen bond is an attractive interaction between a hydrogen atom bonded to an electronegative atom, such as nitrogen or oxygen, and another electronegative atom bearing a lone pair. Hydrogen bonds stabilise peptide secondary structures, influence solubility and mediate interactions between peptides and their binding partners.
