# HBTU

HBTU is a widely used aminium-type coupling reagent for peptide synthesis, derived from HOBt. In the presence of a base such as DIPEA, it converts protected amino acids into active esters that react with the resin-bound amine. It is cost-effective for routine Fmoc solid-phase synthesis.
