# HATU

HATU is a uronium/aminium-type coupling reagent derived from HOAt, used to activate carboxylic acids for amide bond formation. It provides rapid, efficient couplings with low racemisation and is often reserved for difficult couplings in peptide synthesis, such as sterically hindered or N-methylated residues.
