# Good's buffers

Good's buffers are a set of zwitterionic buffering agents described by Norman Good and colleagues in 1966 for biological research. They were selected for pKa values between 6 and 8, high water solubility, minimal membrane permeability, low metal binding and low UV absorbance. Examples include HEPES, MES, MOPS and PIPES.
