# Enantiomer

Enantiomers are pairs of molecules that are non-superimposable mirror images of each other. They have identical physical properties in achiral environments but rotate plane-polarised light in opposite directions and can interact differently with chiral biological targets. L- and D-amino acids are enantiomers.
