# DIPEA

N,N-Diisopropylethylamine (DIPEA), also called Hünig's base, is a sterically hindered tertiary amine used as a non-nucleophilic base in peptide coupling reactions with uronium and phosphonium reagents. Its bulk prevents it from reacting with activated esters while it neutralises acids generated during coupling.
