# Dilution factor

The dilution factor is the ratio of the final volume to the initial volume of a solution, or equivalently the ratio of initial to final concentration. The relationship C1V1 = C2V2 allows researchers to calculate how much stock solution and diluent are required to reach a target concentration of a peptide.
