# Desiccator

A desiccator is a sealable container that maintains a low-humidity environment, usually by means of a drying agent such as silica gel or calcium sulfate. It is used to equilibrate cold peptide vials to room temperature without condensation and to store hygroscopic materials. Vacuum desiccators further reduce residual moisture.
