# Crude peptide

Crude peptide is the unpurified product obtained after cleavage from the synthesis resin and precipitation, typically in cold diethyl ether. It contains the target peptide along with deletion sequences, truncated chains, protecting-group adducts and scavenger residues. Purification by preparative HPLC is required to reach high purity.
