# Conjugation

Conjugation, or bioconjugation, is the covalent linking of two molecules, at least one of which is biological, such as attaching a peptide to a protein, label, surface or polymer. Common chemistries target amines, thiols or click-chemistry handles. Conjugates are characterised by mass spectrometry and chromatography.
