# Analogue

An analogue, or structural analogue, is a compound whose structure is similar to that of another but differs in one or more components, such as a substituted amino acid, a modified terminus or an added lipid chain. In peptide research, analogues are used to study structure-activity relationships and to improve properties such as stability.
