# Amino acid analysis

Amino acid analysis (AAA) determines the amino acid composition of a peptide or protein by hydrolysing it, usually in 6 M hydrochloric acid, and quantifying the released amino acids chromatographically. It confirms composition and is a principal method for determining net peptide content and accurate peptide quantity.
