Glossary

# Acetate salt

An acetate salt of a peptide contains acetate counter-ions in place of trifluoroacetate. Peptides can be converted from the TFA form to the acetate form by ion exchange or by repeated purification with acetic acid buffers. Acetate salts are often requested for cell-based research because residual TFA can interfere with some biological assays.
