# Absorbance

Absorbance is a logarithmic measure of the amount of light absorbed by a sample at a given wavelength. According to the Beer-Lambert law, it is proportional to concentration and path length. Absorbance at 280 nm, based on tryptophan and tyrosine content, is commonly used to estimate concentrations of peptide and protein solutions.
